How do you remove wax from a kitten's fur?

Our kitten knocked over a wax tart warmer and the wax is stuck to his fur. He is 11 weeks old. Any ideas how we can safely remove the wax. It's mostly on his belly and his tail.
Answers:
First you need to check to make sure the kitten doesnt have any serious burns. The belly area isnt as protected with fur as the rest of the body. If the kitten is ok , then just dont worry about it. It will come off eventually. Pulling it and combing it will just hurt the poor thing. Have a pull on your body hair and see how much it hurts. The kitten will get it off in time.
You might have to cut it out. Sometimes I have to trim my kitty's fur when I can't get something out. Poor kitty!
Try giving him a bath if he'll let you.
If not, try cutting it off but be very careful!
Or you can pick it off little by little. I bet he's already on the job getting it off!
Good luck.
Shave it off..?

Sorry, can't think of anthing else to do.

Or maybe put some spirit on a cotton wool bud and put a 'lampshade' on the kitten's face to stop it licking the spirit and getting ill?
freeze with ice cube till hard and scrape most or cut fur if ya have to.
make the house more baby proof please
Try brushing very carefully with a metal combed cat brush or a fine-tooth comb, get as much as you can, and let nature (the cat) get the rest off. It won't be long before your kitten looks less like a candle.
It may have to be cut out.but Goo Gone disolves wax pretty well. You might be able to soak the fur in it and then remove the wax. You'd just have to bathe the kitten afterwards to make sure he doesn't ingest any of the Goo Gone.
Hair dryer , but dont get it too close to the skin, it will eventually melt the wax. all you have to do is have a paper towel or something under the waxy fur to catch the wax. Or just cut it out either way.
hmm. you might have to cut off the fur. but I'd also check with the vet to see if there's anything else you can do. if the wax got on his fur he might have slight burns from it and it would be best to at least have the vet check it out. poor kitty. hope things work out for ya.
cut the fur
You can take him to the vet.
All you have to do is be VERY gentle and try to cut it if! But don't hurt the poor kitten! It's really the ONLY way to get it out!
hope the wax didn't burn the kitten!! you could take a hair blower to get the wax soft then take a fine tooth comb, and comb away. don't put it to close to the skin because it will burn the cat.
that happened to my cat to i got a lice brush or a very fine brush and brushed it with that once and a while till it was out
take a fine comb and keep combing it will come out
