How do you help your 6 year old cat, stop from pulling his fur out in one spot?

I have took him to the vet. He was on antibotics for 1 week. It got better, then he started pulling the hair out again It's not painful to touch. I've tried to clean it out myself. It don't work well. I still have not paid off the last debt. Please help if you have any home remedies. Thank You!

My cat licks off the fur on her belly area all the time. The vet thinks it is allergies. We tried cortisone but it only worked while she took it. It doesn't hurt her in any way to have a 'bald belly' so I prefer not to give her any medication for it. Sometimes it is a nervous habit for some cats. As long as he isn't in any pain, perhaps you can overlook it.
he might have some kind of flea allergy or his skin maybe dry, so don't bathe him if you have been. if he keeps on the vet can give him a steroid shot to help with the irritaion.
Sorry, but you have to take him back to the vet and say the first medication didn't work long enough. My cat had the same problem. Apparently, he was lacking something in his diet.
My cat has the same problem. At first they said it was due to a fight he had with a stray but he still does it. My vet told me that because the wound had healed and had been fine for a while that he was probably pulling out his hair because of fleas or other parasites.

This could be the case. You might want to bath your cat with flea shampoo and/or get the drops you put behind the head. Perhaps you should also talk to your vet just to be on the safe side. It could also be something similar to mange.
If the vet has already figured out what the underlying problem is, and the underlying problem isn't dangerous or isn't curable (like mild allergies), you can spray the spot on your cat with Grannick's Bitter Apple Spray ($5 at the pet store). It is safe to use on your cat, and it tastes terrible. It is most often used to keep pets from chewing on themselves and it works every time.
See if there are any outside forces that have changed since your cat started to do this. With my cat, we could never figure it out. Now she just goes thru phases where she does it and doesnt. The vet said there was no medical reason, so not to worry about it rather than keep on with the cortisone.
