When I had first got my cat Pickles, he was a new born kitten. I got him to use the litter box but physically putting him into it myself. Every time that your cat starts to whine or pace just try putting him/her in their litter box. After a while when they see that's their bathroom, they will go there by themselves.
Ok, you make him drink, and then put him in the box, and rub it's belly. keep him in there till he goes, they have a tiny digestive system so it shouldnt' be long.
I would try setting him there when he needs to go. If this doesn't work, he may not be old enough to know that. Keep it up every time he goes. Or, have the cat go on something, like a piece of paper, then throw it into the litter box, and he will come to think that his "own waste" is in the box and might continue to use it.
Well my cat I told him not to go in it and he did.lol
every couple minutes, take him to the litter box. When i did it, I always let him walk away by himself, that way he learns his way. for the first night or two, lock him in the bathroom w/ the litter box. of course put food and water in there too.
watch him very carefully. if you see him scratching at the floor, or whatever he is on, then he will get a blank stare in his eyes, then squat. dont say anything, just grab him quick and take him to the litter and put him inside. he will get the idea.
My cat only tried going on the the floor once, his first day at the house. - no problems since. He was 6 weeks as well.
just put the cat in the box and he will always remember and go back to it.it has always worked for me..it shouldnt matter if he has to go or not at the time..
First 3 answers all good. I have usually found that just showing a kitten where the box is suffices. Their mamas teach them, but 6 weeks may be a bit young for the lesson to have entirely been learned. Also make sure the box is close, and that the sides aren't too high.
keep your cat locked in the same room as the litter box for like 3 days and your cat will start using it.
