How do you know if my cat ate a bat?

there was a dead bat have eaten beside her. Will she have rabies?
Answers:
If your cat is up to date on her rabies vaccine, you have nothing to worry about.if not..it could be a possibility that the bat had rabies, but rabies is not as common in bats as most people think, so I would say it is not LIKELY your cat would get infected. There is NO rabies test for a cat, but you can collect the bat and have IT tested for rabies. Call your vet and ask about if and where you can take the bat for testing if you are worried about it.
if she starts foaming at the mouth, run
take it to the vet
if she is an outside cat she should be vaccinated for rabies is she? if not then you need to take her to the vet and have her tested
has she had her shots? I would have to say, she probably ate it. I would call your vet in the AM. to be safe. I don't know, but you may have to take whats left of the bat to the local health unit to be tested too.
rabies is a possibility. Are your cats rabies shots up to date? If not take the dead bat and your cat to the vet to be checked out.
i doubt it . but if u really want to make sure about it go to your local veternarian for help and bring in the dead bat just to see if they need the bat to make some tests
Call your 24 hour emergency vet number.
If she's had her shots than she'll be fine. If not, you need to take her to the vet real soon just in case. If the bat is still outside you need to put it where she can't get it and eat the rest.
