how long before mama cat weans the kittens off the teat??

these things have got to be 12 weeks old and eating me out of house and home, but still are suckling at the buffet!! whats up with that??
Answers:
Kittens will continue to suckle as long as the mother allows it. Normally the mother cat stops after about 8 weeks, but yours may be over-indulgent (if it's her first litter, she might not really know when to stop). I wouldn't worry about it too much -- the mother's milk will start to dry up soon and they'll have to stop then.
the momma will wean them when she's ready.
lol thats funny!
6-8 WEEKS
around 4 weeks.
Mommy should be batting at them by now to keep them away. Start to give them kitten chow once they start eating that they will leave mommy alone.
LoL, they don't wanna leave mommy! Usually when they start growing teath a mother cat will rid them of the teat, usually 6-8 weeks depending on the cat..maybe your cat's just weird.
